My first Fusca - It all began...

Thanks to my 'rents - a red 68 (taken in 1979 I think in Grants Pass, OR). My dad bought it from my Jr. High School  librarian. On its maiden voyage, the engine blew up over the Sacramento Bridge on I-5 heading into Sacramento.  My sister and I pushed it over the top, and we glided into a rest stop at the bottom of the bridge, before the airport exit, and my Uncle George came and got it. We had it towed to Carmichael and they installed a new engine... I was careful as heck to  keep my ey on the  oil, and keep it tuned up for ever after.  He was named HR forever after (Hitler's Revenge). A bit unwoke these days...

My second bug was a sky blue super beetle I bought in Las Cruces, NM. I don't have any pictures yet. I ask my Mom.
